An Obama Delegate from the 5th LD, I live in Sammamish and would like the honor of your vote at the State Convention in Spokane.
The ideal National Delegate must be able to: · Vote. · Communicate · Negotiate. · Listen. · Convince. · Unite. · Resist pressure. · Absorb, assimilate, analyze and apply information in a fast-paced, think-on-your-feet environment.
As a competent professional in the international arena for the past 20+ years, I have had to do all of these on a daily basis. I have been a consultant in Paris and a Policy Manager in London. Now I am a Program Manager in Redmond, contracted to work for Microsoft. On top of it all, I have been a Mother for over 15 years.
The future of the Democratic Party relies upon Fresh Faces and Fresh Voices to been seen and heard at the National Convention. The “business as usual” politics of our Party have led to the current divided and contentious situation that we face. Once the last balloon has dropped, and all the confetti has settled, we will need to return to our communities, and build on the momentum that has brought all us “New Day Democrats” forward.
As a unifier, I see this Primary process as a wonderful opportunity to bring together our opposing views and create a new force for the future. Barack Obama represents this Hope, and I am proud to support him and promote his ideals.
A vote for me to go to the National Convention will also be a Vote to propel me into the future building of our Party in our 8th Congressional District, because “there’s no stopping me now!”
