Alex Franks

Hello, my name is Alex Franks!

I support Barack Obama for president, because he is truly an American candidate for an American presidency. He is the only candidate to work from the bottom up, and is a true representation and testament to the American dream, and what each of us can truly accomplish. Barack encourages my personal belief that one should always give to others first, and put their personal priorities second.
Barack has inspired me to use my degree, not only to help children with developmental disabilities here in America, but to enlist in the Peace Corps after graduation to develop special education programs overseas.

As a freshman in college, I feel it is very necessary for a strong representation of the younger voting population in America.

My hope in acting as/running for delegate positions supporting Obama is to demonstrate to our state and to the nation that my generation is very aware of the challenges facing our nation and we are willing to work hard and sacrifice for our share in the American Dream.

I also hope to set a positive example for my peers in college by showing that young people can be successfully involved in the political system. I hope to encourage other students, by example, to become active in our nation's political system, and work to make a difference in our country while getting an education.

MORE ABOUT ME

I am an honors student at Eastern Washington University, where I am majoring in Applied Developmental Psychology. After graduation, I will be joining the Peace Corps to travel overseas and help to establish and develop Special Education programs, as well as raise awareness about developmental disabilities.

I'm a loud-and-proud feminist and hippy/environmentalist!! I love being outside as often as possible.

I am very emotionally invested in The Office on NBC, I listen to the Dave Matthews Band religiously (some say it's a bad thing...) and I am a proud Mac owner!
