Short Biography:

I take photos. I tell stories. I passionately care.

I'm just an ordinary girl who has been blessed with some extraordinarily good and bad times in life. Through it all, I've always kept faith in the fact that when we work together, we certainly can and we certainly will overcome.

I've traveled internationally to take photos and tell stories and it never ceases to amaze me how when it is all said and done, we all want the same things:

Respect - for ourselves and for each other
Honor - in our actions
Courage - to stand up for what is right and just
Empathy - to understand (and be understood by) others
Humanity - to be viewed as worthy; to matter

For this amazing candidate, I started a simple photojournalistic essay that has taken on a life extraordinary in the past 6 months. I'd love for you to be part of it and I'd love your help in continuing towards our amazing opportunity of a lifetime.

If you'd like to be profiled or have any questions on where I stand and why I should be a delegate, be in touch at your earliest convenience and let's chat!

WHY I'M A DELEGATE FOR OBAMA:
TOP 5 Reasons I Like Obama (4/25)
  1. He was right on Iraq on Day 1.
  2. He knows how to brush his shoulder off.
  3. He is a phenomenal family man.
  4. He surrounds himself with brilliant people.
  5. He's not above rolling up his sleeves and getting to work.

I take photos. I tell stories. I passionately care.

For this amazing candidate, I take photos and I tell our stories:

Currently in the midst of a photojournalistic essay entitled "Because | Democracy in Action" that tells the story of Barack Obama supporters through photos of their daily lives and active supporting activities, interviews that delve into "why him, why now", and a unique personalized final aspect of each profile that literally fills out the Because... concept with each person's personal story. The essay will be published and a gallery tour is in the works.

For this amazing candidate, I care:

Nothing is more powerful than working on behalf of a candidate who energizes lapsed democrats and new democrats to get involved. In this amazingly historic campaign, I've been an active participant in bringing people back to the table, specifically for Obama, who had left out of devestation of being ignored for far too long:

Nationally worked for Obama (concentrating in Texas, New York, California and Washington) to re-register hundreds of lapsed democratic party voters along with new democratic party members.

For this amazing candidate, I've not only been active, I've engaged others in the process by challenging supporters in low-income and minority neighborhoods to move from apathy to action:

Through innovative programming around the campaign theme of Yes We Can, created marketing and participated in community organizing activities around tangible, culturally specific means to coordinate resources and efforts to have a meaningful impact for supporters who felt that their efforts were not substantial enough to make a difference.

I take photos and tell stories about why we all suport this once in a lifetime candidate because it is my passion to bring new supporters into the fold each and every day.

As a delegate, I've had the extraordinary opportunity to combine my passion for a spectacular candidate with my passion for connecting with others.

Please send me to Denver as a delegate who is the older sister of a U.S. Soldier so that I can passionately advocate for the ONLY candidate who was right on the war in Iraq from Day 1.

Please send me to Denver as a delegate so that I can passionately advocate for the true collective voice of the people rather than the backroom brokered deals of "politics as usual."

Please send me to Denver as a delegate where I can continue my successful work in listening to others' concerns, addressing those concerns and converting new support for Obama at all levels of this nominating process.

Please send me to Denver as a delegate so that I can continue to have the phenomenal access and ability to tell YOUR story while passionately ensuring that we have a say in what the next chapter holds.

BLhenderson Looking for a few great delegates and alternates! 0 Apr 25 2008, 3:44 PM EDT by BLhenderson

So you're passionate about Obama. You have your reasons, you have your story and if you could, you would shout it from the rooftops. So how about you let me profile you?

My name is Bernadette and I'm a 7th CD delegate looking for a few (as many as possible really) great Obama supporters to profile in a photojournalistic essay I am working on. I could probably type thousands of words on the project, but in a nutshell:

I take pictures. So I'd want to take your picture(s). Ideally, I want you in your element--knocking on doors, chatting on the phone, at work, with your kids, just being you and genuine in your commitment to this democratic process (particularly: the caucus process as a democratic benchmark AND your passionate advocacy for your candidate who I would prefer to be Barack Obama, but we can work on that *smile*).

I tell stories. To that, there will be a survey that I'll want you to fill out. The purpose of the written survey is so that you have time to think over your answers, clarify as necessary and more importantly...

I want the REAL you. At the end of the survey is a "uniqueness capture" where in your own words, no editing, etc, you will complete a prompt.

Amongst the above, I'll have many folks that have the same "reasons" so the more uniquely "you" we can get, the better the end product.

Interested? I hope so! I can totally work around your schedule and make this as easy as possible for you. We'll get into details of why this project, why now and how it will be used, but I'm absolutely looking forward to potentially meeting you!

Drop me a line at henderson.bernadette@gmail.com and put "Obama Profile" in the subject line so that it sorts to the right priority box (smile).

All the best!
Bernadette
