| Hello, my name is [Molly Strong]! | |

| | About me: I grew up in Seattle, studied English and Psychology at New York University and developmental psychology at Trinity College Dublin, Ireland. After graduating from NYU, I pursued a career in finance in Dublin. It was a fascinating experience that ultimately left me feeling unsatisfied, and I am now working on getting a Masters in Education, with an emphasis on teaching literature to secondary school students. I am grateful to have had the opportunity to travel extensively, and I am looking forward to electing a president who will not only aid in improving domestic programs (early childhood education specifically) but also improve America's image abroad. In New York, I worked extensively to register students to vote for the 2004 presidential election. I have also been incredibly involved with Obama's campaign; I was a precinct captain, a volunteer at Sen. Obama's speech here in Seattle, and I travelled to Portland with other volunteers prior to the Oregon primary to register people to vote. In addition to my involvement with both the 2004 and 2008 presidential campaigns, I have been involved in my community as both a tutor for underprivileged children and more recently as a volunteer at a drop-in center for homeless teenagers. My involvement in political campaigns, get out the vote operations, and with populations who so desperately need government assistance have helped solidify my belief that Barack Obama is the president our country needs. (Also, I'm a pretty good baker. I don't know if that counts as bribary, but take it for what you will.) |
Currently I am helping organize a trip to Oregon to register voters and am looking forward to decorating the Hale's Ale Bus (in which we'll be making our journey!) with Obama swag. I have been active in my community working for Obama, but I also have helped work for the change he represents. I do a lot of work with homeless teenagers and education, and I think it would be great to send people to Denver who have worked hard for Obama AND the change for which he's worked hard too. I also helped make buttons to send to the PA primary. (Never before did I think I would learn how to work a button making machine!) I've been a dedicated Obama supporter and would love to represent him at the National Convention. I'm 23, and I think this would be the experience of a lifetime! Looking forward to seeing you all at the State Convention! |

Hi Molly--
Your story sounds a bit like mine. I'm glad to see you going on! When are you headed to Oregon? (In response to your "unrelated"... what do you read?) Anelecia
Do you find this valuable?
